Russia's HIV/AIDS Crisis: Confronting the Present and Facing the Future

Russia is part of the “second wave” of states being struck by HIV/AIDS, and the epidemic threatens to devastate the country. Although the prevalence of the virus in Russia is currently not nearly as severe as that of sub-Saharan African states, the growth of the infection rate in Russia is second in the world only to Ukraine.
