Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) releases the KERC (Rights of Consumers Relating to Supply of Electricity, Standard of Performance (SoP) and allied matters) Regulations, 2022, reducing the maximum time under which electricity supply companies (Escoms) are mandated to provide power supply to consumers. As per the regulations, Escoms will need to ensure electricity supply within three days of receiving the application in metro cities, seven days in other municipal areas, and 15 days in rural areas.
