Uttar Pradesh proposes a new health policy targeting 17 municipal corporation including Noida and Lucknow, 57 district headquarters and rural and backward areas across the 75 districts. The new policy will be implemented for five years and aims to attract public-private partnerships and generate employment and upskill state’s medical workforce.

Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) releases draft UPERC (Captive and Renewable Energy Generating Plants) Regulations, 2024 to solicit public comments. The draft regulation will apply to all Captive Generating Plants (Non-RE) having an installed capacity of 1 MW or above, and all Captive Generating Plants (RE) and Renewable Energy Generating Plants having an installed capacity of 100 kW and above. The Commission will hold a public hearing on this matter on June 3, 2025, and all stakeholders must submit their written comments by May 30, 2025.

Arunachal Pradesh approves the formation of NEEPCO Arunachal Hydro Power Corporation Limited, a joint venture company between the state government and the central public sector undertaking, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited. The new company will implement five hydropower projects with a combined capacity to generate 2,626 megawatts of electricity.

Maharashtra approves the Manufacture Sand (M-sand) Policy. The policy, approved by the cabinet, is expected to transform the construction sector by promoting use of artificial sand. The government aims to set up 50 M-Sand (artificial sand) units per district which will generate local employment opportunities, reduce dependence on natural sand, and encourage environmental conservation.
