Victory in Iraq and the Not So New Middle East

No form of analysis is more dangerous than prophecy, and this is particularly true in trying to predict the broader impact of the Iraq War on the Middle East. Neoconservatives have rushed out to talk about fundamental changes in the region that will put an end of old regimes and many of the region’s tensions and conflicts. Arabists have put on the cloak of Samuel Huntingdon and have warned of clashes of civilization and a rise of terrorism.
