Photo Contest Winner: Susheel K. Shrestha

Congratulations to Susheel Kumar Shrestha for submitting the winning image for the cover design of the final report! Shrestha, winner of the 2009 Smart Global Health Photo Contest, submitted a stunning photograph of a young child receiving a polio vaccination. This picture was taken in IDP (Internally displaced people) camp affected by Koshi river flood in eastern region of Nepal. In this picture, a child is taking polio vaccination supported by UNICEF.
Susheel Shrestha was born in Siraha in 1964. By training he is a Civil Engineer and worked for CARE-Nepal as a Junior Engineer for 15 years and with UNICEF for 10 months as a field monitor. Shrestha continues to do photography for UNICEF and is interested in the field because he finds it to be an excellent medium of expression. He particularly enjoys shooting wildlife and people. He enjoys yoga, meditation and cricket.
