Please join the Center for Strategic and International Studies for a conversation with James D. Taiclet, chairman, president, and chief executive officer, Lockheed Martin Corporation. He will join Dr. John J. Hamre, CSIS president and CEO, and Langone Chair in American Leadership for a conversation on the future of warfare. For decades, the U.S.’s technological and operational superiority was the hallmark of its military power. But the U.S. advantages are increasingly under threat by near peer competitors, making it essential to develop critical new capabilities, platforms, and programs.

Mr. Taiclet became chairman in March 2021, after joining the company as president and CEO in June 2020. Previously, he was chairman, president and chief executive officer of American Tower Corporation from 2004 until 2020. He was appointed American Tower’s president and chief operating officer in September 2001; named chief executive officer in October 2003; and selected as chairman of the board in February 2004. Mr. Taiclet served as president of Honeywell Aerospace Services, a unit of Honeywell International from March 1999 to September 2001; as vice president, Engine Services at Pratt & Whitney from March 1996 to March 1999; and as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, specializing in telecommunications and aerospace strategy and operations from July 1991 to February 1996. He began his career as a United States Air Force officer and pilot.

This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
