Brought to you by

The Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies is pleased to host a discussion on the warfighter’s adoption of emerging technologies. This event will be livestreamed on September 13 at 2:00 PM ET.

Over the past year, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), in conjunction with the Army and Navy, has been driving the use of AI and other advanced technologies through a series of exercises such as Desert Sentry, Digital Falcon Oasis, Desert Guardian, and Project Convergence. This event will examine how combatant commands and services collaborate effectively to integrate technology into meaningful capabilities and explore the policies and processes driving that innovation in a complex operating environment. This event will feature guests from CENTCOM, Navy, and Army:

Schuyler Moore serves as the first-ever Chief Technology Officer of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). Since beginning her role in 2022, she has been charged with driving innovation efforts to explore and adopt AI and other emerging technologies across CENTCOM. Previously, she was the Chief Strategy Officer for Task Force 59 where she worked to integrate AI and autonomous systems into U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) fleet operations.

Justin Fanelli serves as the Chief Technology Officer of the Department of the Navy and Technical Director of Program Executive Office Digital and Enterprise Services (PEO Digital). In these roles, he leads information technology infrastructure transformation across the service. Previously, he held positions as the Navy’s Chief Architect of Defense Medical Intelligence Data and as a Service Chiefs Fellow at the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA).

Dr. Alex Miller serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the Chief of Staff of the Army. Previously, he deployed to Afghanistan as part of Operation Resolute Support to support Intelligence Architecture Modernization as the Chief Technology Advisor for the CJ2. Dr. Miller was also named the Plans and Integration Technology Advisor to Operation Inherent Resolve where he aided in the delivery of intelligence capabilities.

The three panelists will be joined by Gregory C. Allen, director of the Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies.

This event is made possible by general support to CSIS.
