The keynote address by Senator Peters was pre-recorded on April 7, 2022.

Leadership in innovation and technology is central to global influence and power. Artificial intelligence (AI) is of particular importance to U.S. innovation and security, as shown through its inclusion on the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)’s recently updated critical and emerging technologies for national security list. As the technology moves into deployment, particularly in autonomous vehicles (AVs), leadership is crucial to U.S. strength and central to the competition between the U.S. and China.

Join CSIS for an event on the role of AVs in U.S.-China competition with opening remarks from Senator Gary Peters (D-MI). These remarks will be followed by a panel discussion with former U.S. Director of National Intelligence, Admiral Dennis Blair and the President & CEO of the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, John Bozzella.

This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
