An Armchair Conversation with Mario Pezzini, Director of the OECD Development Centre
Join us for a conversation with the Director of the Development Centre at the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) Mario Pezzini as he discusses global trends in international development. The Development Centre brings together government, business, and civil society voices to develop innovative and cross-cutting solutions to global development challenges. Mr. Pezzini will discuss the development implications of the Development Centre's work around "Shifting Wealth," the idea that the center of global economic activity has shifted from the North-West to the South-East.
Mario Pezzini has served as the Director of the OECD Development Centre since 2010. Prior to this position, Mr. Pezzini held several senior positions at the OECD, including Deputy Director of the Public Governance and Territorial Development Directorate and Head of the Regional Policy Division. Before joining the OECD, Mr. Pezzini was a Professor of Industrial Economics at several universities in France, Italy, and the United States. He has also served as an economic development, industrial organization, and regional economics Adviser and a representative in the Italian government of the Emilia-Romagna region.
