Armchair Discussion with the Dominican Minister of Industry, Commerce and SMEs

July 15, 2021 • 3:30 – 4:30 pm EDT

Please join the CSIS Americas Program for a livestream armchair discussion with Minister Victor Bisonó on the outlook for economic recovery in the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic is an important strategic and economic partner for the United States, and a keystone of foreign policy in the Caribbean. One year into the administration of President Luis Abinader, and in the context of the Biden administration’s push for more engagement with Latin America, there is no better time to discuss a renewal of this historic economic and strategic relationship.

In this armchair discussion, Dominican Minister of Industry, Commerce and SMEs Victor Bisonó will share his expert insights on which sectors of the Dominican economy show the most potential for growth and recovery post-pandemic and what role the United States can play in this recovery.

Daniel Runde, Senior Vice President and Director of the Americas Program will moderate the discussion. Discussion will be in Spanish with simultaneous English interpretation.

This event was made possible through general funding to CSIS.
