Assessing the Impact of Illegal, Unregulated, and Unreported Fishing in Latin America and the Caribbean

July 20, 2021 • 2:00 – 3:30 pm EDT

Please join the CSIS Americas Program for a webinar on illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This event will explore the link between IUU fishing and coastal livelihoods and economies, the environment, food security, and national sovereignty across Latin America and the Caribbean.

To tackle the economic and environmental effects caused by IUU fishing, government agencies and organizations across the region must convene to foster dialogue that lends itself to actionable policies. Panelists will discuss the impacts and drivers of IUU fishing in the region and contribute to assess what role development actors, like USAID, can play in responding to this challenge.

This event was made possible thanks to a generous donation from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
