Responsible for Australia’s national security in an evolving threat environment, the Attorney  General is well placed to address the enduring significance of the US-Australia alliance – a partnership founded on the objective of keeping our citizens secure and free.

Senator Brandis was sworn in as a member of the first Abbott Cabinet on September 18, 2013. He was appointed as Attorney-General, Minister for the Arts, and Vice-President of the Executive Council—the positions in which he currently serves.
