The Banyan Tree Leadership Forum: Serge Pun, Chairman of Myanmar's Serge Pun & Associates

The CSIS Sumitro Chair for Southeast Asia Studies is pleased to invite you to a Banyan Tree Leadership Forum featuring Serge Pun, chairman of Serge Pun & Associates. Pun will discuss his views on the current political and economic situation in Myanmar. Pun is a self-made Myanmar businessman, who founded the Serge Pun & Associates group of companies in Hong Kong in 1983. In 1989, he returned to Myanmar and decided to invest there, opening businesses in financial services, agribusiness and property. In 1993, he established Yoma Bank in Myanmar, the country’s second private bank, following the introduction of a foreign investment law in 1991. Since its founding, the Serge Pun & Associates group of companies has expanded to 32 firms, which includes interests in banking, property development, medical services, and vehicle distribution.
