The Battery Minerals Supply Challenge

July 26, 2022 • 9:30 – 10:30 am EDT

You are invited to a discussion on the upstream end of the electric vehicle battery supply chain, hosted by the CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program.

Minerals are essential for the energy transition. Demand for battery minerals, key to the electrification of transportation, is forecast to grow rapidly. What are the market dynamics for these minerals? How serious will the supply-demand gaps be?

Jessica Roberts (Benchmark Mineral Intelligence), Scott Yarham (S&P Global), and Kwasi Ampofo (BloombergNEF) will discuss the outlook for battery minerals supply and demand as well as the interworkings of global minerals trading. Featuring opening remarks by Jane Nakano (CSIS) and moderated by Isabelle Huber (CSIS).

This event is made possible by support from CSIS and the CSIS Energy Security & Climate Change Program.
