Beyond the Budget Deal: A Conversation with DoD Comptroller Mike McCord
Despite the recently enacted two-year budget deal that raises the budget caps for defense, many long-term challenges remain unresolved in DoD’s budget: a looming bow wave of modernization programs, a dependence on supplemental war funding, higher personnel costs, and increasing demands for readiness funding. CSIS’s director of defense budget analysis, Todd Harrison, will moderate a discussion with the DoD comptroller and chief financial officer, Undersecretary of Defense Mike McCord. Mr. McCord will deliver opening remarks and then sit for a question-and-answer session with Mr. Harrison and take questions from the audience.
