The CSIS Strategic Technologies Program is pleased to host the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to discuss challenges and opportunities to bolster data center growth, resilience, and security. Speakers will explore how the increasing digitalization of the economy, the need for computing power and data storage, and the emergence of artificial intelligence are calling for an unprecedented demand for data centers in the United States.

The event will begin with remarks from Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and NTIA Administrator Alan Davidson and Acting Executive Director and Principal Deputy Director of the Department of Energy's Office of Policy Carla Frisch, followed by an expert panel with NTIA Acting Deputy Associate Administrator for the Office of Policy Analysis and Development Maureen Russell, Microsoft Director for Critical Infrastructure Protection Kevin Reifsteck, Equinix Senior Vice President for Global Customer Care and Experience Christopher Kimm, Executive Director for Economic Development in Virginia's Loudoun County Buddy Rizer, and In-Q-Tel Vice President of Technology Dr. Abi Sivananthan (sick)

For more information, you can find NTIA's request for comment press release on supporting U.S. data center growth here, and the U.S. Department of Energy's resources on energy demand growth here
