Bolstering Small-Scale Agriculture in an Era of Uncertainty with IFAD President Alvaro Lario
Brought to you by
In an increasingly uncertain world, breaking the cycle of hunger and malnutrition is more urgent than ever. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is leading these efforts by investing in small-scale agriculture and local food systems around the world, creating jobs that ensure more resilient communities for generations to come.
What are IFAD’s strategies for supporting small-scale producers in the face of new and recurring global challenges? And how will these efforts strengthen global food security, stabilize international markets, and promote sustainable development?
CSIS is honored to welcome IFAD President Alvaro Lario back to CSIS for a keynote address, followed by a conversation moderated by Caitlin Welsh, Director of the CSIS Global Food and Water Security Program, to discuss IFAD’s investments in small-scale agriculture and agricultural development projects to enhance global food security. The CSIS Global Food and Water Security Program hopes you will join us for this timely discussion on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 4:30pm. Following the event there will be an in-person reception with light refreshments.
This event is made possible by the generous support of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
