She serves on both the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees and is chair of the subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security.
Representative McSally is a retired United States Air Force Colonel and is the first woman fighter pilot to fly in combat as well as the first woman to command a fighter squadron in combat in U.S. history, logging more than 325 combat hours, the majority of them during Operation Enduring Freedom. She was awarded the Bronze Star.
