To Build a Better World: A Conversation with Dr. Condoleezza Rice and Dr. Philip Zelikow

The thirtieth anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall represents an important moment to reflect on the accomplishments of the stateswomen and men who crafted a stable, durable, and principled peace in a period of profound uncertainty as the Cold War ended. Dr. Rice and Dr. Zelikow will share the findings of their definitive historical reconstruction of the challenges, choices, and decisions that led to the peaceful conclusion of the Cold War, and the principles and strategy that turned a divided world into a freer and more united one.
Against the backdrop of contemporary geopolitical uncertainty, CSIS’s Project on History and Strategy is pleased to provide a venue for scholars and practitioners to reflect on the momentous decisions and events in the past with an eye toward gaining perspective on the present and finding insights and inspirations for shaping tomorrow. To Build a Better World, represents two of the most important scholar-practitioners’ effort to do just that. We look forward to seeing you on September 12.
