Part of the Chevron Forum on Development
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosts a Chevron Forum event:
CARE and Cargill: An Innovative NGO-Private Sector Partnership to Fight Global Poverty
Featuring:
Michelle Grogg, Senior Director of Corporate Contributions and Partnerships, Cargill
Radha Muthiah, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, CARE
CARE and Cargill have formed an innovative partnership to fight poverty and long-term hunger in the developing world. CARE partners with local Cargill teams and along the company's supply chains to provide training, skills development, and market access for farmers; enhanced education and nutritional support for children; and access to social services like health care and safe drinking water for rural communities. CARE and Cargill leverage their respective strengths to improve livelihoods while at the same time improving Cargill's competitive advantage. Ms. Grogg and Ms. Muthiah will discuss the unique CARE-Cargill collaboration, and opportunities for NGOs and the private sector to form effective partnerships.
