As major overseas combat operations come to an end and overall defense spending declines, a wide variety of new and evolving challenges are confronting the nation's military. The U.S. Army National Guard in particular faces a unique set of circumstances as part of the Reserve Component and given its role in both domestic and overseas missions. Please join the CSIS Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Program on the morning of May 29th for an on-the-record discussion of a new CSIS report providing independent analysis of the strategic-level issues facing the Guard as well as its evolving roles and missions in a rapidly shifting environment.
