Ambassador Heraldo Muñoz is UN Assistant Secretary General and Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean. He is well-known as Chile's ambassador to the Organization of American States as well as its ambassador to the United Nations. He also served as Deputy Foreign Minister for President Ricardo Lagos. As head of the Latin America and Caribbean at UNDP, he leads work on democracy and governance, economic development and poverty reduction, and programs to implement the UN's Millennium Development Goals.
