November 14, 2017 • 3:30 – 5:00 pm EST

Please join CSIS on November 14 for a conversation with Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on the future of Afghanistan. This conversation will focus on the United States' new strategy in Afghanistan, regional dynamics of security in Afghanistan, reforms agenda and prospects for peace.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah has served as Chief Executive for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan since 2014. The newly created role has prime ministerial powers. Dr. Abdullah began his career in Kabul's eye hospital. He served as a foreign minister in the short-lived government headed by the Northern Alliance. Following the fall of the Taliban, he served as foreign minister in Hamid Karzai's administration but resigned in 2006 and registered as an independent candidate to contest the 2009 presidential election.

Please join us on November 14 at CSIS (1616 Rhode Island Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20036) to hear more from our distinguished guest.
