The CSIS Energy and National Security Program is pleased to host Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG, to discuss recent developments in the global energy landscape.

In the context of dynamic economic, political, environmental and technology-based trends all serving to shape current and future energy markets, we very much welcome the opportunity to hear Mr. Kaeser's perspective on these timely issues. Frank Verrastro, Senior Vice President and James R. Schlesinger Chair for Energy and Geopolitics at CSIS, will moderate.

Joe Kaeser is President and CEO of Siemens AG, a global technology powerhouse that has stood for engineering excellence, innovation, quality, reliability and internationality for more than 165 years. Mr. Kaeser has more than 30 years’ experience at Siemens, where he has held a variety of leading management positions in finance and strategy in Germany, Malaysia, and the United States. Immediately prior to his appointment as CEO, he served as Siemens’s Chief Financial Officer for seven years. Previously Mr. Kaeser was Chief Strategy Officer, guiding the company’s long-term strategic orientation to global megatrends, and Chief Financial Officer for the company’s Information and Communication Mobile Group.
