The CSIS Energy & National Security Program is pleased to host Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of Total, for a conversation on Total's global gas, renewables, and power strategies and their implications for the company's activities in the United States.  The discussion will encompass Total's position in natural gas markets, the growth and impact of renewables, and Total's investments in the renewables and power sectors.

Patrick Pouyanné was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total S.A. in May 2015.  Total is the world's fourth-largest oil and gas company, headquartered in Paris, France, with a large and growing U.S. presence.  Pouyanné has been with Total S.A. for two decades, serving as President of the Refining and Chemicals Division and in senior management roles in the Upstream Exploration and Production Division earlier in his career.  Prior to joining Total, he served in France's Ministry of Industry.
