Penny Wong is a Senator for South Australia, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs. Senator Wong was first elected to the Senate in 2001. In 2013, she was appointed Leader of the Government in the Senate, and after the change of Government she was appointed the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate. Senator Wong is the first woman to hold both these roles.
