Cooperation in a Time of Backlash: The Future of International Joint Development

January 30, 2017 • 10:00 – 11:30 am EST
This is a momentous time for multinational acquisition projects. Populist backlash in multiple countries demonstrate increasing skepticism towards expanding alliance cooperation as an end in itself. At the same time, one of history’s largest international joint development efforts, the F-35, is ramping up production. CSIS plans for a discussion that brings a range of perspectives to the questions of what could, and should, come next.

CSIS's Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group will also be releasing a report that focuses on several case studies of international joint development projects and the best practices gleaned from these cases.
