Please join CSIS for an event celebrating the launch of the inaugural Australia Chair program.
The Australia Chair was established to sharpen the focus on U.S.-Australia relations and contribute innovative policy ideas to the rapidly expanding regional and global challenges that call for greater coordination and action within the alliance.
The opening session will include welcoming remarks by Dr. John Hamre, opening comments by Mr. Anthony Pratt, of Visy Industries and Pratt Industries; and remarks by Dr. Kurt Campbell, Deputy Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs on the National Security Council.
The Australia Chair launch will include a panel discussion on the state of the U.S.-Australia alliance, the challenges both nations face in the region, and the importance of the relationship in this era of strategic competition.
The panel will feature Dr. Charles Edel, the inaugural CSIS Australia Chair, Ambassador Arthur Sinodinos, Australia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Mr. James Carouso, Senior Adviser and Chairman of the Advisory Council to the Australia Chair, and Dr. Kori Schake, Director of Foreign and Defense Policy Studies, American Enterprise Institute. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Michael Green, Senior Vice President for Asia at CSIS, and livestreamed on this page.
This event is made possible through the generous support of Pratt Industries.
