The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will launch a new project titled “
Beyond Parallel: Bringing Transparency and Understanding to Korean Unification” in June 2016. Dr. Victor Cha, Senior Adviser and Korea Chair at CSIS, will present the project to members of the press on Thursday, June 30, 2016.
The increased tempo of North Korean provocations and the unpredictability of the leadership puts into stark relief how little we really know about contingencies for instability and unification on the Korean peninsula. CSIS introduces an innovative and new project, titled
Beyond Parallel, which seeks to increase transparency and understanding about Korean unification. In the first ever project of its kind, CSIS will present a unique interactive web-based platform that seeks to deliver greater clarity and understanding to policymakers, strategists, and opinion leaders about Korean unification.
Beyond Parallel will create new datasets, use new analytical tools, present new satellite imagery, and feature analysis from around the globe on the challenges and opportunities associated with Korean unification.
