CSIS-Pertamina Banyan Tree Leadership Forum with Senator Loren Legarda

The CSIS Southeast Asia Program and the CSIS U.S.-Philippines Strategic Initiative, in partnership with the U.S.-Philippines Society, is pleased to present a roundtable with Philippine Senator Loren Legarda as part of the CSIS-Pertamina Banyan Tree Leadership Forum. Senator Legarda will focus her remarks on her experiences as chair of the Philippine Senate Foreign Relations Committee and matters pertaining to the Philippines’ efforts to combat climate change.

Senator Legarda has served in the Philippine Senate since 2007 and is the Chair for the Philippine Senate committees on Climate Change, Finance, and Foreign Relations. She is the only woman to ever become the Senate majority leader in the Philippines. Known for her work on social justice and environmental protection, Senator Legarda is currently serving her third term in office.
