Cuba Health Forum

Opportunities for Improving U.S.-Cuba Engagement on Health Policy
Friday, January 22, 2010 1:00 pm - 5:45 pm
B1 Conference Center Center for Strategic and International Studies 1800 K Street, NW Washington DC, 20006

Globally, Cuba reports some of the best health indicators, characterized by long life expectancy, high vaccination rates, and low rates of infant and maternal mortality. Since the 1960s Cuba has carried out international health missions to countries in crisis, and through the Medical School of the Americas Cuba welcomes international students to study medicine without charge. Cuba’s cutting-edge research institutions and biotechnology sector attract partners from Europe and Asia.
