Cultivating Competitiveness: Emerging Technologies and Agricultural Innovation
Brought to you by
Emerging technologies and agricultural innovation are transforming North America's agricultural sector, offering opportunities for increased efficiency, sustainability, and productivity. Precision agriculture, using GPS, AI-driven analytics, among other technological innovations, could allow farmers to optimize water use, fertilizer application, and pest control, reducing costs and environmental impact. However, several challenges remain. An example of this is the nascency of these technological advancements and the vast digital infrastructure gaps, especially in rural areas, that could hinder adoption of smart farming technologies. This panel seeks to showcase technological developments by all three countries, and discuss how the United States, Canada, and Mexico can overcome technological gaps and limitations to ensure that both large and small producers benefit from innovation in the sector.
