Cyber-Security
The Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Singapore, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington, D.C., sponsored an international conference on cyber security in Singapore on March 4-6, 2002. The conference convened senior cyber-security representatives from five governments—Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the United States—to discuss the problems of cyber security in a global age and find ways to improve transnational cooperation on cyber security in both a regional and larger international context. The conference, which opened with a keynote address by Dr. Tony Tan, deputy prime minister and minister of defence of Singapore, examined partner countries' approaches to governing cyber-space activity and discussed models for transnational cyber-security cooperation.
