Dr. Stephen Macekura Roundtable Book Discussion on Global Sustainable Development

Join us for a public roundtable to discuss Dr. Stephen Macekura’s book, Of Limits and Growth: The Rise of Global Sustainable Development in the Twentieth Century, as well as his career leading up to this publication. Dr. Macekura is Assistant Professor of International Studies at Indiana University’s School of Global and International Studies.  He is a historian of U.S. foreign policy, foreign aid, international development, and environmental politics and policy.  His first book Of Limits and Growth: The Rise of Global ‘Sustainable Development’ in the Twentieth Century, explores the role of environmental NGOs in attempting to reconcile the desire for economic growth with environmental protection after 1945. His second book will focus on the meaning and measurement of economic growth in the twentieth-century.

Prior to joining the faculty of Indiana University, Stephen held fellowships in U.S. foreign policy and international security at Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia. He has been awarded numerous fellowships, grants, and awards for his research.
