May 2010 marked the one year anniversary of the establishment of the Eastern Partnership. It is an opportune moment to assess the Partnership's early achievements and continuing challenges, as well as to determine whether an overarching transatlantic strategy can be developed for enhanced cooperation in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. The Honorable Mikolaj Dowgielewicz, Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, provided the keynote address.
