The Economic Imperative of Empowering Women - A Conversation with Christine Lagarde

Tuesday, March 7, 2017 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
CSIS Headquarters

In celebration of International Women's Day, please join the Center for Strategic and International Studies for a Smart Women, Smart Power conversation with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde about women, work, and economic growth.

The global economy is picking up, but achieving a durable recovery will depend in part on empowering women to participate fully in the economy. What do we know about the economic and social benefits of women's empowerment? What public policies and business actions can help to achieve this? How can those in leadership positions—women and men—support these efforts? Director Lagarde will speak to these issues and launch a new IMF publication, Women, Work, and Economic Growth.

The Smart Women, Smart Power (SWSP) initiative is designed to amplify the voices of women in foreign policy, national security, and international business.

This series is made possible with support from Citi. Additional support provided by AT&T.
