EIA's International Energy Outlook 2018

July 24, 2018 • 9:00 – 11:00 am EDT

The CSIS Energy & National Security Program is pleased to host Linda Capuano, Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), for a presentation and discussion of the EIA's International Energy Outlook 2018 (IEO 2018), which will be released at 9:00 a.m. on July 24, 2018.

The IEO2018 builds on the IEO2017 reference case, which presented long-term projections of world energy demand by region and primary energy source; electricity generation by energy source; and energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. In particular, this year's outlook offers a macroeconomic perspective regarding the uncertainty in economic growth in India, China, and Africa.

A panel discussion with Todd Moss (Center for Global Development), Anvita Arora (KAPSARC), and Edward Chow (CSIS) on key uncertainties related to energy consumption in China, India, and Africa addressed in the IEO 2018 will follow Dr. Capuano's presentation.

Made possible by general funding to CSIS and the Energy & National Security Program.
