Mr. Reintsma will share his perspectives on the adaptive roles played by development agencies given the changing landscape of traditional foreign assistance. He will also examine the effectiveness of multi-sector partnerships in addressing current and future global need.

Curt Reintsma is a recently retired Senior Foreign Service Officer from the U.S. Agency for International Development and has lived and worked a total of 18 years in Africa. In a variety of senior positions, including the role of Mission Director to Malawi, Reintsma spearheaded an extensive portfolio of development activities in health, education, economic growth, democracy and humanitarian assistance. A former Peace Corps volunteer in the Indian Ocean islands, Curt Reintsma went on to co-found the Global Development Alliance (GDA) initiative and establish the Africa Food Security Initiative. In 2012, Reintsma received the Administrator's Distinguished Career Service award. He currently focuses his work on encouraging private sector investment and engagement in Africa and other developing regions.
