The End of UNRWA? Then What?—Gaza: The Human Toll
Brought to you by
In October, Israeli parliament passed two measures that will effectively end the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as we know it once instituted in January. What are potential scenarios for UNRWA going forward? What are the implications if UNRWA ceases to function? Are there options to fill the void?
The CSIS studio broadcasts—‘Gaza: The Human Toll’—are produced by the CSIS Bipartisan Alliance for Global Health Security, in collaboration with the CSIS Humanitarian Agenda and the CSIS Middle East Program. Please join us for the twenty-first one-hour episode, Tuesday, November 19, 8:00-9:00am ET, to discuss what happens next for UNRWA. J. Stephen Morrison, CSIS Senior Vice President and Director, Global Health Policy Center, will be joined by keynote speakers Scott Anderson, Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator and Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza, Dahlia Scheindlin, Political Analyst and Columnist, Haaretz; Author, The Crooked Timber of Democracy in Israel, and Jon B. Alterman, CSIS Senior Vice President, Zbigniew Brzezinski Chair in Global Security and Geostrategy, and Director, Middle East Program.
This event is made possible by general support to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
