Energy and Security Issues: Perspectives on China, India and Iran
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Energy and National Security Program is hosted Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki for a discussion on three countries that are the focus of attention of policy makers in East and West. China and India with their hunger for energy and economic boom and Iran for its huge oil and gas reserves and nuclear ambitions. These countries are closely linked in many areas of energy cooperation and trade while each of them follows a set of independent policy decisions. Dr. Fesharaki will share with us his insights on the key policy imperatives of China and India and the role of their national oil companies and government in promoting an international energy policy. He will also share his views about what is really happening in the Iranian oil and gas industry. He will conclude by linking these three players together and drawing conclusions as to what are the policy implications for the United States.
