Equity in Immunization Services to Ensure “A Long Life for All”

Immunizations have been described as a “best buy” in global health, helping to stop outbreaks, preventing death, and generating high returns on investment. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted essential health services and widened gaps in routine immunization coverage, leaving millions at risk of preventable diseases. This year’s World Immunization Week theme -- “Long Life for All” -- emphasizes ensuring a healthy life for everyone means including those who are most vulnerable and difficult to reach.
Please join the CSIS Global Health Policy Center for a conversation about what it takes to reach those who are un- or under-immunized in remote or hard-to-reach populations with Rebecca Fields, Technical Lead for Immunization, USAID MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project; Cathy Ndiaye, Senior Technical Officer for Immunization at PATH Senegal; and Mireille Lembwadio, Global Vaccination Coordinator at the International Organization of Migration (IOM). Katherine E. Bliss, Senior Fellow and Director of Immunizations and Health Systems Resilience at the CSIS Global Health Policy Center, will moderate the discussion.
This event is made possible by the generous support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
