The Export-Import Bank, the United States, and Globalization

Thursday, March 19, 2015 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Center for Strategic and International Studies1616 Rhode Island Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20036

Please join us for a discussion on the Export-Import Bank's contribution to the U.S. economy, future directions and challenges, and ways the U.S. Congress continues to support the bank.

Since 2009, the Export-Import Bank has helped create 1.2 million private-sector jobs by financing small business exporters. Over the last five years, it has generated $2 billion more than the cost of its operations. However, the bank is currently operating on a short term extension of its charter which expires on June 30, 2015. Given the forthcoming deadline, a conversation on the role the bank plays in growing American jobs and its contribution to the global economy is needed to spur further support from the U.S. government.

Keynote Remarks by:

The Honorable Robert J. Dold
U.S. Congressman, R-IL

Panel Discussion Featuring:

Scott P. Schloegel
