In 1961, President John F. Kennedy created the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement development assistance programs across the world while promoting peace and prosperity. Fifty years later, the agency remains a key pillar of U.S. national security and soft power, having improved the lives of millions of people worldwide.
Join us for a discussion on the book "Fifty Years in USAID: Stories from the Front Lines," and a panel discussion with former USAID representatives who will discuss lessons learned from USAID's experience, and ways for USAID to adapt in order to face today's complex development challenges.
