Frank Lavin, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade

Frank Lavin, under secretary of commerce for international trade, spoke at CSIS before a meeting of its Advisory Board. Lavin outlined three trends in international trade: the addition of three billion new customers to the international trading community; the "death of distance"; and the revolution in trade liberalization. He also spoke about the administration's trade agenda for the coming year, specifically free trade agreements, the Doha round of the WTO, and U.S.-China relations.
