In late 2020, CSIS and the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies established the Commission on Northeast Asia and the Korean Peninsula to assess and make recommendations for the U.S.-Korea alliance amidst unprecedented geostrategic uncertainties and challenges. The Commission consists of 27 high-level delegations of former government officials and scholars from the U.S. and ROK. It is co-chaired by Dr. Joseph Nye, Dr. John Hamre, Dr. Victor Cha, Dr. Yoon Young-kwan  (Former Minister, ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade), Dr. Kim Sung-han (Former Vice Minister, ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade), and Ambassador Park In-kook.

This pre-recorded event commemorates the launching of the Joint Report by the Commission on Northeast Asia and the Korean Peninsula.

This event is made possible by the generous support of the Chey Institute of Advanced Studies and the Center for Strategic and International Studies
