Global Strategy Institute Anniversary Conference

Thursday, April 17, 2008 9:00 am - 3:45 pm

FUTURE BOUND: The United States in a World of Change

Overview

The CSIS Global Strategy Institute hosted our fourth anniversary conference to assess the changing international landscape within which the United States will navigate in the future. Together we highlighted areas critical to U.S. engagement—level of competitiveness, workforce trends, state of physical infrastructure, promotion of innovation, investment in science and technology, role of government—and generated recommendations on future policy priorities.
Although this conference takes place in the context of the continuing presidential election debate, we sincerely hope that our discussion will transcend the issues that dominate the headlines and focus instead on the various longer-range forces at work around us.
