Please join the Center for Strategic and International Studies for a conversation with Megan Smith, U.S. Chief Technology Officer. President Obama named Smith to the position in 2014.  She previously served as a Vice President at Google and led the company's acquisitions on platforms such as Google Earth, Google Maps, and Picasa.  She also co-created tech initiatives, including WomenTechmakers and SolveForX, which both serve as innovative community projects.  Smith has served on the boards of MIT, MIT Media Lab, MIT Technology Review, and Vital Voices.  She received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT.

The Smart Women, Smart Power (SWSP) initiative is designed to amplify the voices of women in foreign policy, national security, and international business.
