Information Dominance: The Navy's Initiative to Maintain the Competitive Advantage in the Information Age

CSIS hosted an event with the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead, USN. Admiral Roughead discussed the following subjects:

  • Organizational changes within the Navy to meet the challenges of the information age - the consolidation of the Director, Naval Intelligence (N2), the DCNO for Communications Networks (N6), and other information capabilities into a single organization.
  • The Navy's plans to establish the Fleet Cyber Command, as the Navy component to U.S. Cyber Command.
  • The Navy's commitment to ensuring information superiority is provided to the warfighter, by delivering a holistic approach to how the Navy plans, resources, and assesses capabilities
