Iran's Energy Equation
The Energy Program hosted Bijan Khajehpour, chairman and co-founder of the Atieh Consortium. He spoke about the economic and political dimensions of Iran shaping development and management of that country’s energy resources. Khajehpour reviewed current data on Iran’s hydrocarbon sector, underlining particular policy issues key to its expansion, such as using energy as a means for technical innovation. He also offered bullish projections for Iran's gas utilization and electricity consumption highlighting Iran's pursuit of nuclear and other technologies. Khajehpour provided an overview of competing, overlapping, and consensus forming political structures within Iran that explain the central objectives surrounding economic development.
