Launch Event: U.S.-India Innovation Forum
Hosted by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)
The forum will include a special address by His Excellency Mr. Richard Verma, U.S. Ambassador to India and by Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, Deputy Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy. Top experts on the role of innovation in an economy will address the launch event including Dr. Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI, Mr. Eric Alexander, Head of Business, Uber Asia, and Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, Executive Chairman, Qualcomm Incorporated.
The launch event will formally recognize the Steering Committee and host three panels featuring some of the world's leading experts in the Forum's three workstreams.
- The Role of Innovation Ecosystems;
- University Research Networks; and
- Government Support for Private Sector Innovation Research
The launch of the U.S.-India Innovation Forum will precede the start of the 2016 U.S. India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue (S&CD) being held in India this year. The work of the Innovation Forum is expected to be reflected in the S&CD deliberations.
